The multiple intelligenes that i have strenghts in are "interpersonal", and "Intrapersonal. People in the interperosnal category are usually extroverts and are characterized by their sensitivity to others' moods and feelings. I can communicate effectively and empathize easily with others. I am also intrapersonal which means i am usually highly self-aware and capable of understanding my own emotions, goals, and motivations. Both interpersonal and intrapersonal explain who i am, because i care both about other people and myself.
A interpersonal student typically learns best by working with others and often enjoy discussion and debate. An intrapersonal student on the other hand earn best when allowed to concentrate on the subject by themselves. They are also perfectionist, so you need to give them a lot of time to do their work.
When teaching it is important to pay attention to all types of multiple intelligence. But working with interpersonal and intrapersonal it is key to have a classroom environment where if students need to work by themselves to learn they can, and if they want to work in groups they can do that to. As a teacher you want to switch it up everyday so all students feel comfortable with learning, and also learn new ways to learn.
Students who are interpersonal might want their students in groups of two to four on the computers. While working in groups it will strengthen student’s communication and cooperation skills. If the Students are intrapersonal computers can help them build up individual skills. It allows for differences in student’s learning styles and abilities. Also student's may work at their own pace with computers.
Now that i am more aware of the idea of multiple intelligences, i can pay attention to them when writing my lesson plans. I know that i need to switch up lessons to acomidate all the students. Also, this will help me understand the students better. For example, they student might not undertand the information not because its hard, but its just not the way they are use to or like to learn.
